Corvette Thunder in the Glen

This thrilling two-day event hosted by Watkins Glen Promotions commemorates the 72nd anniversary of the Corvette and pays tribute to its visionary designer, Harley J. Earl. The Corvette, designed and engineered by General Motors chief stylist Harley J. Earl, was inspired by Earl’s visit to the 1951 races in Watkins Glen. Two years later, America’s Sports Car made its debut, captivating racing fans and launching a legacy that continues to this day. Corvette Thunder in the Glen honors Earl’s profound influence on automotive history and the car that has become a symbol of American innovation and performance.
